TEDxSanLuisObispo

The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences.

TEDxSanLuisObispo is organized by a group of Cal Poly students who want to bring a forum to Cal Poly that allows our community to spread ideas and spark conversation around those ideas. Every year the TEDxSanLuisObispo conference brings our community together. We all firmly believe in the power of ideas and know that TEDxSanLuisObispo can act as a catalyst for change on our campus and in our community.

Meet Emily, our Production Executive :) She is a 4th year Event planning student!

According to Emily she joined TEDxSanLuisObispo: “because I’m a huge fan of TED talks. The information I learn from TED talks is incredibly insightful to me and the lessons I learn from watching is something I utilize in everyday life. When I was given the opportunity to participate in this years TEDx, I was ecstatic. It’s great learning experience and I’ve taken away so much from this amazing opportunity!.” We appreciate all the hard you have put into the event, thanks! ✨

On Wednesday, two of our team members, Ana Waldburger (Lead Organizer) and Sonam KC (Speaker Executive), went to KVEC radio station! They talked to Dave Congalton about TEDxSanLuisObispo! It was a light and entertaining conversation where they shared about how the conference works and the behind the scenes of it!

Meet Sonam, our Speaker Executive :) She is a 4th year Comparative Ethnic Studies student, minoring in Communications!

Sonam shared why she joined the team: “I decided to join TEDxSanLuisObispo because of my absolute adoration for TED talks. I wholeheartedly believe in the importance of storytelling and how it teaches us about the world we live in.
