Construction of our new, comprehensive cancer center is making great progress and is scheduled to be finished at the end of 2026! For the first time in San Luis Obispo County, a full array of cancer treatments and services will be provided under one roof in a state-of-the-art location.

Slated to open in early 2027, the two-story, 58,650-square-foot center is a partnership between Dignity Health and several local physician groups, designed to elevate cancer care in our community. To enhance the inclusion of our Spanish-speaking community during monthly educational conferences, the Hearst Cancer Resource Center (HCRC) at French Hospital has introduced the Whisper System. This wireless audio technology facilitates real-time, simultaneous interpretation, allowing participants to receive information in their primary language without disturbing the speaker or other attendees. The system utilizes a transmitter for the presenter and ear-hook headsets for participants, ensuring clear communication even in noisy or large settings. By providing these real-time translations, participants can participate fully and confidently share their questions and concerns.
