English: In key Rio Grande Valley congressional races, we are endorsing candidates not out of full alignment, but out of necessity. If their far-right opponents win, having all three Valley congressional seats flip Republican would trigger an unprecedented alarm for our border communities, immigrant families, and working people.
Our recommendations for voters are:
- Henry Cuellar for U.S. House TX-28
- Vicente Gonzalez for U.S. House TX-34
Electing these candidates does not mean the fight will be easy. It means protecting the ground we stand on so we can continue organizing for real social change, rather than fighting in a regional political landscape that will be completely hostile to the interests of our Pueblo.
Our endorsement is not a blanket approval of the candidates. If they continue to vote against our community’s best interests, the Pueblo will act, and we will not offer future support. This includes inflating ICE funding, militarizing our communities, criminalizing people for personal decisions over their own bodies and how they form their families, and discriminating Texans for simply living authentically as they are.
Our vote is a tool, but our real Pueblo power lives in how we organize together every single day.
Español: En carreras clave para el Congreso en el Valle del Río Grande, respaldamos a ciertos candidatos no por una alineación total con ellos, sino por necesidad. Si sus oponentes de extrema derecha ganan y los tres distritos del Valle pasan a manos republicanas, se encenderían las alarmas ante una situación sin precedentes para nuestras comunidades fronterizas, las familias inmigrantes y la clase trabajadora.
Nuestras recomendaciones para los votantes son:

- Vicente Gonzalez para la Cámara de Representantes de EE. UU. (Distrito 34 de Texas)
Elegir a estos candidatos no significa que la lucha será fácil. Significa proteger el terreno que ocupamos para poder seguir organizándonos para un cambio social real, en lugar de tener que luchar en un panorama político regional totalmente hostil a los intereses de nuestro Pueblo.
Nuestro respaldo no implica una aprobación incondicional de los candidatos. Si continúan votando en contra de los mejores intereses de nuestra comunidad, el Pueblo actuará y no ofreceremos nuestro apoyo en el futuro. Esto incluye medidas como aumentar los fondos para ICE, militarizar nuestras comunidades, criminalizar a las personas por decisiones personales sobre sus propios cuerpos y la forma en que constituyen sus familias, y discriminar a los texanos simplemente por vivir con autenticidad y ser quienes son.
Nuestro voto es una herramienta, pero el verdadero poder de nuestro Pueblo reside en cómo nos organizamos y trabajamos juntos día tras día.
