Each month members sign up to make 4 dozen different kinds of 🍪 cookies each.

These delicious 🍪 cookies are packaged in individual baggies and given to the 👦🏽🧒🏽children to go with their lunches or as an afternoon treat!

All the proceeds 💰 will go to our community service programs that service our families in need.🥰

📚In the 2026-2027 school year, Readers Are Leaders volunteers will read to over 1,200 students once a month at 10 San Jose elementary schools. At each visit, they bring along an Enrichment Activity✏️🖍️🧩✂️ to add to the enjoyment and understanding of each book that they read.

During the summer, committee members brainstorm ideas🙋‍♀️⁉️ for projects that will be fun and informative for the children. Volunteers create every project and prepare them for delivery to the classrooms. Every month, the committee shares the project ideas with the membership at our Regular Meetings.

Enrichments include posters, puzzles, dot-to-dot drawings, design ideas, scratch art and matching, find the difference, and category games and many more. 👏📖⭐

Recently, AL of San Jose hosted an inspirational session with musician Bobby Gonz🎵 at , a residence where moms and their babies can stay together during addiction rehabilitation.

Not a sound could be heard from either the children or their mothers as they sat spellbound by his motivational talk.🤫

Born in San Jose, Bobby honed his musical skills while incarcerated. He contributes his success and turnaround to the fact that his mother and other family members love him as he is. He stressed that the moms must learn to love themselves💖 and accept who they are. They once were babies, and everyone loves babies.👶👼He asked them to go back and remember this.

AL of San Jose volunteers enjoys 📋 planning, 🛒 shopping, 🔪 prepping, 👩‍🍳cooking and delivering meals to Family Supportive Housing residents every month.

🍽️ This month's dinner included a teriyaki 🐓 chicken, rice & veggie dish, 🐓 chicken nuggets, 🥦 broccoli (kids fav!), 🍇 fruit salad, rolls and 🧁cupcakes for dessert. Delicious! 💖
