Team Scot

Team Scot Team Scot funds research to cure childhood cancer, focusing on Rhabdomyosarcoma. Scot fought hard for 2-1/2 years and gained his Angel Wings September 28, 2014.

Our Believe Bags and sibling workshops support families—because cancer impacts everyone. Scot was diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma also known as RMS, on June 15, 2012. He entered a 54-week trial program at UCSF and was cleared of this Cancer November 12, 2013 only to relapse a month later December 2013. He will be truly missed by not only myself, a ton of family and f

riends. We started Team Scot to Honor Scot and to help raise awareness while donating to research for Childhood Cancer with a focus on Rhabdomyosarcoma. One of Scot’s doctors at UCSF Benioff’s Children’s Hospital, Dr. Sabnis, has Scot’s tumor for research and we will be donating to him and his team to help with research for Rhabdomyosarcoma in hopes of one day being part responsible of finding a cure. We will also be helping Dr. Sabnis and his team to start a Tissue Bank and get the word out to Childhood Cancer patients how important it is to donate your tissue/tumors to research in hope that it can help with finding a cure.

Exciting announcement! 🎉

The most comprehensive childhood cancer legislation in more than a decade, both the Mikaela Naylon Give Kids a Chance Act and Accelerating Kids' Access to Care Are, has been signed by the President and is officially LAW.

Every email to lawmakers.
Every phone call.
Every post shared.
Every child’s story bravely told.

This happened because of you. Thank you for showing up, speaking out, and refusing to stay silent.

Collective advocacy moves the needle - and today, it means more research, more momentum, and more hope for kids facing cancer.

Tonight, let's celebrate progress. Tomorrow, we keep pushing until every child has a cure because there are so many more out there that need better options. 💪💛

Scot met a little girl, just 3 or 4 years old, who was scared, hurting, and couldn’t even tell us how she felt because she didn’t speak English. We offered her a tie blanket to choose from, and she lit up when she picked a pink one. For the first time in a long while, she smiled—and that single smile meant everything. 💛

It’s moments like this that remind us why we do what we do. These blankets aren’t just gifts—they’re comfort, hope, and a reminder to every child that they are never fighting alone. 🎗️💛

✨ September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month ✨
Rhabdomyosarcoma is one of the most aggressive childhood cancers, making up about 3% of all pediatric cancers—but it carries a survival rate of only 20–30% when it has spread. 💛

This month, we honor the fighters, celebrate the survivors, and remember the angels we’ve lost. We also stand with the families walking this journey right now.

Team Scot – Shred Childhood Cancer is committed to funding research, supporting families, and spreading awareness. Together, we can bring hope and move closer to a cure.
💛 Wear gold.💛 Share stories.💛 Take action.

👉 Follow along this month as we highlight inspiring stories, raise awareness, and show ways you can join the fight.
