Shop with a Cop SV fosters continued mutual respect between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Through engendering trust in the community and humanizing the person behind the badge, children see police officers through a positive lens. Shop with a Cop of Silicon Valley (SWACSV) is an all volunteer, charitable foundation designed to give less fortunate children from our community an opportunity to experience the holiday spirit.

And we’re off! Another year, another round of Readers Are Leaders! 🎉

We officially kicked off this year’s reading challenge with our first assembly, welcoming a new group of 3rd grade students and getting everyone excited for the reading ahead.

There are plenty of pages to turn, goals to reach, and milestones to celebrate between now and the finish line — and we can’t wait to see how much our students will grow along the way.

Here’s to a great year of reading! 📖

Backpacks packed, supplies delivered, and students ready for a new school year! 🎒📚

This year, SWACSV has been busy behind the scenes getting backpacks and requested school supplies into the hands of local students who need them.

We were proud to support foster youth through KAFPA, provide backpacks to students at Dahl Elementary, and help another local school district after they reached out with a need for additional supplies.

There may not always be a big event behind the photos, but the goal remains the same: making sure our kids have the tools they need to walk into the classroom ready to learn.

Wishing all of our students a great school year!

🎉 Kicking off our 19th year of Shop with a Cop!

As we begin another year of giving back, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to continue serving the children and families in our community.

For 19 years, our mission has been about so much more than a holiday shopping experience. It’s about building relationships, creating meaningful connections with law enforcement, encouraging children to become stronger readers, and helping them see police officers through a positive lens—as trusted members of the community who care about them and their future.

Even during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, our commitment to the children and families we serve never wavered. We found ways to continue giving back, because our community—and especially our children—needed those connections more than ever.

We are incredibly grateful to our volunteers, law enforcement partners, schools, sponsors, donors, and Board members who continue to give their time, resources, and heart to our mission.

Here’s to 19 years of giving back, building bridges, and making a difference—one child at a time! ❤💙

We are incredibly grateful for partners like CEFCU who believe in our mission and the children we serve.

Support from our community partners makes it possible to inspire a love of reading, create meaningful connections, and provide opportunities that help students thrive—all year long.

Thank you, Peter Diaz and the entire CEFCU team, for your continued partnership and for standing with us as we work to build brighter futures together.

In April, we're celebrated the voices behind the scenes who answer every call with calm, compassion, and professionalism during Dispatcher Appreciation Week!

Dispatchers are often the first point of contact during someone's most difficult moments, providing guidance, reassurance, and critical support to both the community and first responders. Their dedication keeps our communities safe every single day.

Thank you to all of our dispatchers for the incredible work you do—we appreciate you every day. 📞💙

A full-circle moment. Congratulations, Ixtcel! 🎓

Watching Ixtcel graduate from UCLA in just three years was a moment we'll never forget.

SWAC has been part of the Alejo family's journey since 2014. Through tragedy, uncertainty, milestones, and celebrations, we've remained by their side—long after many state and local agencies exhausted the support they were able to provide. What began through heartbreaking circumstances grew into a relationship built on trust, hope, and family.

Ixtcel's story is one of resilience. Her journey represents the quiet victories that remind us why we do this work. She is just one of many young people SWAC has had the privilege of supporting since 2008, and seeing her walk across that stage was a powerful reminder of what's possible when a community shows up and never gives up.

Mr. Alejo shared how proud he is of Ixtcel's accomplishment and how grateful he is for SWAC's continued support of his daughters over the years. We are equally grateful to have been part of their journey.

Darrell and Alicia were honored to celebrate this milestone in person, and we couldn't be prouder of all that Ixtcel has accomplished.

Congratulations, Ixtcel. Here's to everything that's ahead. Go Bruins! 🐻💛💙

That's a wrap on our Spring Reading Challenge!

Back in May, we celebrated 8 weeks of hard work, determination, and incredible reading growth—our students did an amazing job!

We're so proud of every 3rd grader who participated and celebrated their accomplishments alongside their teachers, families, and local officers. Reading doesn't stop after the holidays, and neither does our commitment to helping students build a lifelong love of learning.

Congratulations to all of our readers! 📖✨

Día del Niño at Santee Elementary 🎉📚

What a special Read Aloud at Santee Elementary. Students spent the day reading, taking swings at a piñata, and connecting with local officers.

Día del Niño is all about honoring children, and we’re grateful to create spaces where they feel supported, encouraged, and celebrated.

Thank you to our sponsor, Comerica Bank!
