The 2026 TIME100 list is a powerful reminder of how women in STEM are shaping our world.

This year, leaders like Mariangela Hungria (microbiology & sustainable agriculture), Rebecca Ahrens‑Nicklas (physician‑scientist), and Precious Matsoso (global health) are pushing science forward in ways that protect our planet, advance medicine, and strengthen global health systems.

At MAGIC, we know representation matters. When girls see women at the forefront of discovery and innovation, they start imagining themselves there too — and mentorship turns that spark into confidence.

Here’s to the women transforming STEM today, and to the next generation rising behind them.

From pioneers, leaders, and titans to artists, innovators, and icons, these are the most influential people of 2026.

🌟 Celebrating the Women Who Shape Science — and the Girls Who Will Follow 🌟

The 2026 list of the 50 Most Important Women in Science is a powerful reminder of how far women have come — and how much brilliance the world gains when women are given the chance to lead, discover, and innovate. From pioneers who pushed through discrimination to today’s trailblazers advancing genetics, astrophysics, AI, and medicine, these women show what’s possible when talent meets opportunity.

At MAGIC, this is exactly why we do what we do. When young girls are matched with women mentors in STEM, they see themselves in these stories. They gain confidence, guidance, and a clearer path toward futures in science and technology. Mentorship doesn’t just open doors — it changes trajectories.

Today, we celebrate the women who transformed science, and we recommit to empowering the next generation to follow in their footsteps.

✨ Pi Day reminds us why mentorship matters

Behind every breakthrough in math and science is someone who opened a door, offered guidance, or helped a young person see their own potential.

As we celebrate trailblazers like Katherine Johnson and Dr. Maryam Mirzakhani, we’re also celebrating the mentors who make it possible for today’s girls to imagine themselves in those stories.

At MAGIC, that’s the heart of our work — women in STEM lifting up the next generation, one relationship at a time.

Hidden no more! AWIS celebrates the many achievements women scientists have made.
