GIVING TUESDAY FOR MUSIC & THE ARTS
https://nacusasf.org/Donate.html
Dear Friends--
The San Francisco Chapter of NACUSA has served the Bay Area for over thirty years making it possible for living American composers to have their work presented by outstanding musicians and ensembles such as the Ives Collective, Avenue Winds, the Serenade Choir, and Friction Quartet, among others.

This season, we were happy to showcase five concerts featuring nearly forty-five new works. However, concerts are expensive to produce. Our events are funded by member dues, ticket sales, and donations. Of these, donations are critical to our success.

We would greatly appreciate it if you can help us continue with a tax-deductible donation this Giving Tuesday. It would help underwrite the cost for concerts and for the Young Composer Competition this coming season. Together, we can bring new music to life and share it in our local communities. Donations can be made at our website:
https://nacusasf.org/Donate.html

Thank you,
The Members and Performers of NACUSA/SF

On Saturday, March 16 I will be part of this memorial concert with the San Francisco Composers Chamber Orchestra honoring Mark Alburger, our longtime music director. I will be playing bass in the orchestra and, as a composer, have contributed a variation "Swinging' Antigone" to a theme from Mark Alburger's opera, "Antigone." Hope you can attend this special concert! Here is some information.
A Tribute to Dr. Mark Alburger’s Musical Genius
Dr. Alburger's diverse and dynamic compositions will take center stage, showcasing his unique voice and creative prowess.
Join Us in Celebrating a Legacy on Saturday, March 16th at Lakeside Presbyterian Church in San Francisco.
Leaving a Mark is not only a tribute to Dr. Alburger's artistic achievements but also a celebration of his enduring influence on the music in Bay Area. We gather to remember a visionary composer and an inspiring individual whose legacy will continue to resonate through his music.

COMPOSER SPOTLIGHT - Alden Jenks. Alden says, "here's a little promo of my new piece, to be performed on January 19, 2024 at Sunset Music and Arts, 1750 29th Avenue, San Francisco." (On the video Alden says the performance was Nov. 10, but it was rescheduled to Jan. 19, 2024). I am looking forward to hearing Alden's composition. It sounds intriguing!
