A wonderful weekend of Blue & Gold! 💙💛

On June 7th, the Ladies of participated in the 38th African American Baccalaureate Celebration, hosted by in conjunction with the Ivy Rose Community Foundation. Our scholarship chair, Dr. Kevina Brown, was able to acknowledge our 2026 scholarship recipients and provide them with their scholarship awards and graduation stoles.

Later that evening, Sorors also attended the “Power of 50” Juneteenth Mayor's Freedom Ball hosted by to kick off their 45th annual Juneteenth celebration. We enjoyed an evening of understanding the importance and recognition of the Juneteenth holiday, as well as celebrating and recognizing numerous men and women who were acknowledged for making meaningful impact in our communities. Amongst the various individuals recognized were Sorors Michelle Aldridge, Alicia McGee, Tianna Madison, and Dr. Kevina Brown. Thank you Sorors for being a true beacon of light to others and for continuing to be 💙💛

This past weekend the Northern California Area of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., along with Alameda Recreation and Parks Dept., hosted "Aquatics for Everyone", a free water safety clinic in Alameda, CA. We had 150 registrants, and participants were able to engage in on-site swim lessons, CPR, drowning prevention and first-aid.

We enjoyed helping the community learn water safety and hope all the participants learned valuable information that may help themselves and others. 🌊💙💛
