While fans from around the world were coming together to support their teams during the World Cup, multiple Bay Area law enforcement agencies were coming together to identify and rescue survivors of human trafficking, and to arrest offenders.

Recent domestic violence deaths in our community have shaken us all.

Today, YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley joined our partners in the Domestic Violence Advocacy Consortium (DVAC) in issuing a unified statement calling for greater awareness, stronger prevention efforts, and continued investment in life-saving services.

Domestic violence affects people of every age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, income level, and background.

This is a moment for all of us to come together, to check in on one another, to listen without judgment, to believe survivors, and to help ensure everyone knows where support is available.
