Thank you The Mercury News for highlighting this year's Walk a Mile in Their Shoes and helping shine a light on the importance of ending gender-based violence.

What makes this event so meaningful is the community that comes together for a united message. Survivors, advocates, families, sponsors, volunteers and community leaders all play a role in creating a future where everyone can live free from violence and have equitable access to support services.

Thank you to all who joined us!

About 600 people registered to take part in the YWCA’s “Walk a Mile in Their Shoes” to raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual abuse.

Last week, Your YWCA had the opportunity to attend the 5 year anniversary celebration of the Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) of Santa Clara. Our CEO gave remarks centered on the extraordinary collaboration between CAC partners and the significance of families having access to multiple disciplines in one place.

"Over the past five years, the Center has become so much more than a building or a coordinated response model. It has become a place where children and families are met with compassion, dignity, and care during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. When a child is sharing one of the most traumatic experiences of their young life, the way we respond can either deepen harm or begin to restore safety, trust, and hope."

Congratulations to the CAC on this anniversary.

Every person deserves to be met with dignity, compassion, and choice, especially during moments of crisis and healing.

At YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley, we believe survivor-centered support means honoring each individual’s voice, needs, and decisions. Your support helps provide safe housing, crisis response, advocacy, counseling, and healing services that empower individuals and families to move forward on their own terms.

A donation is more than financial support, it is an investment in safety, autonomy, and hope.

A massive shoutout to this week’s 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, Pat Richards! Pat is a true champion for the cause, currently hosting a team for the 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝘄!
