This month, we are highlighting some of the many barriers that can make leaving an abusive relationship complicated and difficult. For survivors with pets, the decision to leave can be even more challenging when they are concerned about the safety and wellbeing of an animal they love.

Survivors deserve compassion, understanding, and support, not judgment.

We are thrilled to announce Dolores Huerta as the 2026 YWCA Empowerment Award honoree!

As a lifelong advocate for social justice and the co-founder of the United Farm Workers of America, Dolores Huerta's leadership and dedication to empowering communities embody the spirit of the YWCA Empowerment Award.

The award will be accepted on her behalf by her daughter, Juana “Juanita” Chavez, at our 2026 Inspire Luncheon, featuring special guest speaker Valarie Kaur.

Last Monday, Your YWCA participated in the annual Golf 4 Vets Bay Area golf tournament at Boulder Ridge! ⛳

We are so grateful to the Golf 4 Vets community for their incredible generosity, including a $5,000 donation to YWCA that will support our clients’ education needs, as well as all of the additional donations made by community members throughout the event.

During the tournament, we had the opportunity to connect with veterans, golfers, and community supporters and share more about YWCA’s mission, impact, and the services we provide to support survivors and families in their healing journeys.

Thank you to all the golfers, veterans, and volunteers who helped make this event such a meaningful day of community and giving. We are honored to be part of it!
