Akbayansjsu Main Page Embracing in Friendship Since 1976 🇵🇭 The group was inspired to create an organization based on the Pilipinx/Pilipinx-American culture.

Along with the SJSU community, other universities, the Pilipinx/o/a community, and the larger community, we strive to increase our knowledge of the Pilipinx-American culture and share the beauty of the heritage. Akbayan started out with a group of Pilipinx/Pilipinx-American college students from SJSU gaining consciousness about their heritage and culture. In 1976, Akbayan was born. Initially, it s

tarted out as a social group where Pilipinx individuals had a chance to meet new people. Over the years, it has evolved to become an organization concerned with cultural and community concepts as well.

Come hangout with POLARIS 49 and the community for one last time as the semester is coming to an end 😔 Make sure to bring your friends, line, and most importantly the good vibes and enjoy this afternoon with us 🕺🌅

End of the year Bonfire will be at Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz from 1-8PM! The event is set to end at 8pm but you are welcome to stay longer! (However Akbayan will NOT be liable 🙅‍♂️)

LET THE PENNY WARS BEGIN 😈🪙

Happening this week at the Akbayan Table on 7th Street, you’ll find jars where you could donate pennies to our cabinet boards and they will have to do a consequence at End of The Year Banquet happening this Friday May 8 from 6-10:30PM at Mayfair Community Center hosted by the Amihan Interns! The fundraiser will be going throughout the end of the week and all proceeds will be going back into future events that will be planned in the future!

🪙You can give pennies to ADD points to that board
🪙Give silver coins or bills to SUBTRACT points from that board

Its about that time again with our last monthly movie night where we will be screening a STAR WARS MOVIE!

Come join us tonight from 6-8:30PM, Location TBA and watch one of the many movies from the Star Wars Franchise! Make sure to bring some snacks as well as you friends! 🍿

As another amazing year of AK is coming to an end, it only means that its time for Elections for the 50th Cabinet!!

Panels & Speeches are a great way to stay informed in being able to hear from our candidates and their visions for their potential term. Make sure to mark these important dates to not miss any of these Panels or Speeches!

We are back once again with our monthly Movie night where we will be screening a transformer movie!
