Sometimes, a child’s biggest barrier to learning isn't a lack of effort—it’s simply not being able to see the classroom board clearly.

The result: Poor concentration. Headaches and irritation. Lack of confidence. Social withdrawal. If in a village, it mostly also goes undetected.

Team OSAAT, along with ASG Eye Hospital and Terapanth Professional Forum CSR created this awareness in Mysore rural region schools.

Eye Screening Camps were held in 3 rural government schools, and we were able to share with the young ones why it's so important to take care of eyes.

For many of these young students, this was the very first time they had their vision tested. Needless to say, to them it looked like another science project!

They happily participated with good energy and were eager to know the results. Of the 613 students tested in 3 schools, over 50 of them needed spectacles.

They will be provided the same free of cost. Staff was also given free reading glasses. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, we were able to bring crucial eye care directly to hundreds of children in OSAAT schools.

Lamp, Lion, Pen or maybe Bus? What is best for making my opinion heard?

There was a lot of excitement for school parliament elections at MDRS Yelasandra School in Bangarpete, Kolar. But there was more to it.

It was special because for the first time, the entire school parliament election was conducted digitally, entirely on OSAAT’s ODiSI Digital voting platform.
It did two things.

First, it gave a lesson in democracy, leadership, responsibility first hand to 381 students including 20 candidates.

Second, it helped students, teachers, school administrators see what technology could do. Including instant vote counting for immediate results.

It also showed everyone how technology could align to the democratic process, while being paperless, fair and precise.

Today's digital vote. Tomorrow's informed citizen.

When OSAAT handed back the 125 year old KPS (Higher Primary Section), Bellare, as a beautiful new school in 2025, we were in for a heartwarming surprise!

From 777 students to 1400 now, nothing can be more rewarding to see a school enrolment double! That’s more children back in a dignified, beautiful environment, energised to learn.

Set amidst a 5 acre campus, the rural govt school at Sullia in Dakshina Kannada, is now as good as any private school, with sports, computer lab, digital smart classes and an extensive library, balancing both academic and co-curricular activities.

Today, the school rebuilt with 8 plug-and-play classrooms and a toilet block is a celebration by itself. By the students, teachers, staff and now, the government.

Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of Karnataka is celebrating KPS Bellare as the school has received state-wide recognition and acknowledgement.

From changing the language of instruction to becoming a topper: A story where technology stepped in to help, one step at a time.

Until recently, Nirsala studied in the Kannada medium. When she shifted to the English medium, the transition was anything but easy.

While others saw a language barrier, she saw a challenge that could be overcome.

Her merit in Class X earned her a special prize: a laptop from OSAAT's Digital Program ODiSI. The team then trained her to use technology to overcome language issues.

From using Google Translate to grasp Biology words to using Youtube classes to catch up, the young girl showed what determination with the right approach to learning can do.

She has now gone on to top the Class XII exams in her Taluk scoring close to 98%. Yet, for her, this achievement is only the beginning.

She has set her sights on an even greater goal—to become a doctor.

When OSAAT rebuilt the celebrated DVG's home at Mulbagal, Karnataka into a beautiful school, getting the children back to a safe school in their own surrounding was the first aim.

Today, that vision is visible in the school's remarkable growth with overflowing popularity as seen in this feature on the school by

Better infrastructure has led to improved learning environments, higher student confidence, stronger academic outcomes, and greater community trust.

This is what sustainable educational development looks like. Not just building schools, but building hope, aspiration, and lasting change.

It’s a hattrick at OSAAT Maharashtra rural govt schools this time for the students of Grade 8th!

Around 1050 students from Zilla Parishad Primary Schools at Dindori taluk, Nashik district from 3 villages - Vilwandi, Kaudasar and Rawalgaon, all scored a full 100% pass with the highest score at 91.3%.

Another 3 schools with a mix of Marathi, English and Kannada mediums have kept up their streak with a majority of the students going on to Higher Secondary in Jath taluk, Sangli district.

In Grade 10th, one of our oldest associate school of 14 years, Shri Mahadev Vidyalay, Ravalgundwadi village, is sending 94% of its students to Higher Secondary.

Girls have outperformed the boys yet again here.

Shri Hanuman New English School, Walsang village, has the top scoring young lady got 93.2%, with the school avg at 76.71%. New Kannada Madhyamik Vidyalay at Morabagi village, has a school avg at 71.42%, but another topper young lady is at 92.2%.

Swing in averages, bu why do these results still stand out?

A majority of them girls, who got back to school after hygienic toilets were provided along with classrooms. This in itself is a sign of progress, where these young girls got to choose studies instead of early marriage had they left school.

Transformation comes in many hues in rural India. And more students in schools itself is a big impact in remote villages, especially in higher grades.

Tamilnadu OSAAT schools enjoy a special reputation. They are either good. Or better than good.

A glimpse into the scores and the pass percentage:

GHSS Girls Thirukazhukundram is one of 2 schools in the state to be honoured with the Kamarajar award for best performance in 2025-26. While 4 students score over 98% with overall Class X at 91.7% and Class XII at 97.5%.

Kayarambedu has the Class X Chengalpattu district topper with 98.8% including 24 students closing in to 90% and above scores. That’s a streak.

Karaikuruchi has a list of exceptional toppers, despite a slight decline. A Class X student scored 100s in 3 subjects - Math, Science, Social Science.

Vellaingadu school has a consistently high pass percentage ranging between 95 - 99% over 3 years for both Class X and Class XII, that also saw 100% last year.

Melanikuzhi is no stranger even to 100% pass rate last year for Class X drops a bit this year, while Class XII is strong at 96.4%.

These results are not just about marks. They represent confidence, aspiration, and the belief that every child—regardless of where they are born—deserves the opportunity to dream big.

Every school transformed is a powerful reminder that rural children have not been forgotten. And that’s the journey from Hope to Happiness that OSAAT stands for. Guided by their wonderful teachers!
