At the Muindi Foundation, we provide structured, small-group instruction in language arts and mathematics, along with mentorship and confidence-building for students who need additional academic support.

Program Eligibility & Commitment

To ensure we are able to provide meaningful support, the following criteria apply:

1. Income Qualification
Families must meet program income eligibility requirements.

2. Academic Need
Students must be below grade level in language arts and/or mathematics, determined through a required assessment.

3. Family Commitment
Families must be able to:
✔️ Attend consistently Monday–Thursday, 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
✔️ June 22 - July 30, 2026

🎨 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: NORMA FRIES — The Artist Behind “Rust Has Its Own Beauty”

As we prepare for the 2nd Annual Community Art Auction Fundraiser — Rooted to Rise: Uplifting Young Minds Through Art and Education, presented by The Muindi Foundation, we’re proud to spotlight some of the talented artists whose work will be featured in this year’s event.

✨ Featured Artist: Norma Fries
We’re thrilled to feature the work of Norma Fries, a visionary mixed media artist whose ability to find depth and beauty in imperfection is both moving and masterful.

One standout piece included in this year’s auction is titled “Rust Has Its Own Beauty” — a mixed media photograph on canvas, measuring 9x12 inches, and elegantly presented in a black wood floater frame. This striking artwork captures a photograph of a Greek bust fragment from the Getty Villa Gallery, dating back to 430 BC.

Norma will also be attending the event in person, giving guests the special opportunity to meet her and hear more about her creative process and inspirations.

Stay tuned as we continue to highlight the incredible artists contributing to this year’s auction. All proceeds from the fundraiser will support the Learn Now Academic Programs through The Muindi Foundation.

Christine’s beautiful collection was inspired by her personal experience celebrating Dia de los Mu***os in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico—a heartfelt tradition that honors loved ones who have passed. You’ll see how Christine masterfully brings this tradition to life through her vibrant artwork.

Even though our events overlap, it’s a chance to support both exhibits. Come to the Muindi Foundation’s open house from 12-5 p.m., and then head over to Christine’s event from 4-7 p.m. If you have time, join us for our auction party from 5-8 p.m. at the San Jose Clubhouse!

Some might wonder why we’re promoting another art event on the same day. The answer is simple: it’s all about teamwork, collaboration, and community. There’s room for both of us to share the spotlight and celebrate the power of art together! 🌟
