It's our last week of school Falcons! 🦅 This Monday will be a normal day however on Tuesday through Thursday, June 9th to the 11th, there will be early dismissal at 1:30 PM.

These are our Garden Leads that have been helping to cultivate and maintain our garden. Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 3rd from 2 PM to 3:30 PM, they need help weeding and organizing the Garden. If you have any time to swing by and help, we'd really appreciate it!

Come on by the garden and help us get it cleaned up! The team will be there till 1 PM (Sunday) so there's still time to drop on by and lend a hand.

Thank you to our garden team for being proactive about taking care of our garden and so many thanks to all the volunteers (big and small) that are helping.

The next Garden Revival Day will be June 3rd!

At the Spring Party, the kids got to showcase their art and music endeavors. Thank you to Ms. Cheng and Ms. Varga for all the amazing work!

Thanks to our Falcon families, friends, volunteers and everyone who made this event happen. From the parents who volunteer to help with art, panel assembly, staffing inflatables, coordinating dance moves, and everything in between.

And of course, thank you for the monetary donations that put the art supplies in every child's hand, funded this event, and made everything happen.

We need help in our FH garden! It's time to refresh our garden and we need help weeding and organizing.

Here's some pictures from Living Classroom which is where some classes will receive lessons and learn about science and social studies topics that range from observing lifecycles and understanding ecosystems, to appreciating Native American plant lore, to cooking and healthy eating with projects like mint tea or guacamole. This Living Classroom program and the garden maintenance is covered by PTA funds, which are your donations at work.

From Amanda, our Garden Lead: I wanted to take a moment to give a huge thank you to some incredibly generous companies who have supported our school garden.

Burpee, Renee’s Garden, and Baker Creek all donated a wonderful variety of seeds for our teachers and students to grow next year, and HealthiStraw came through with a large donation of their GardenStraw mulch for our raised beds.

As a gardener myself, I have used and truly enjoy products from all of these companies, so it makes it even more special knowing our students will get to learn and grow with them in the garden next year.

The weather is getting warm, but it is still not too late here in zone 9b to get something growing in your own yard. If you do, I hope you consider showing these companies the same support they showed our Forest Hill community.

We are so grateful for their generosity.

There's no school on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. We'll see you all on Tuesday, May 25th. Have a great long weekend everyone!

Hi Forest Hill families, we need help in the garden!!

Even with this heat, we have been working hard to bring it back to life and get it ready for next year, but the weeds are taking over and we cannot do it alone.

We have received some incredibly generous seed donations for the kids to grow next year, which is so exciting. But without putting in the work now, the garden will not thrive the way it truly can.

Right now we need help with:
• Weeding the entire garden
• Organizing and cleaning out the garden shed

We are also having issues with the irrigation system and are hoping there might be an irrigation specialist in our community who could help us get things running properly again.

As a mom of two Forest Hill Falcons, I see how much the kids love this space. It really is a special little sanctuary for them.

Many thanks to America who led Project Cornerstone () this year! Thank you to all the volunteers for helping make this program such a success.

We hope that you consider joining Project Cornerstone next school year as a volunteer. This program "focuses on youth development by building a network of support around children and teens." (We get to read to the kids in class!) 📚📘

Our FH Librarian pulled the stats for this year and look at those numbers. That's an amazing amount of books. Thank you to our librarian, volunteers, and the patrons who keep the love of reading going.
