“Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). There is so much that comes our way in our daily lives. Some things bring distress, others confusion, and still others overwhelming worry and unrest. I don’t fully understand why all t

hese things happen to people and, certainly without exception, even to those who have trusted in Jesus as Lord and Savior. I do know this: We live in a fallen world, but this is not our home. And that is why we must go to Jesus every moment of every day and spend time as Mary did — sitting at the feet of Jesus, worshipping Him. His promise is that He will give you that much needed rest. Go to Him… Worship Him… In spite of these trials that never seem to end, in spite of the storm that rages all around, He is worthy of praise! Heed the words of Jesus when He said, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know” (John 14:1-4). May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and may He be gracious to you; may the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace… and that much needed rest. We will also celebrate our monthly agape feast and baptisms. If you desire to be baptized, please let us know—biblically, baptism is the first step of obedience for those who have come to faith in Christ. It’s going to be a beautiful and memorable day this Sunday August 9th.
