Lobby Day was a success! 🎉

Sister Warriors staff and members had the opportunity to visit the Capitol and meet with elected officials and their staff to advocate for AB 464, Justice for Incarcerated Survivors. This critical bill would strengthen protections for incarcerated survivors, extend the timeframe for survivors to bring claims against CDCR, and increase access to vital community-based resources and support.

This Lobby Day was especially meaningful because, for many of our members, it was their very first time at the Capitol—and they showed up powerfully. Their voices, experiences, and advocacy helped move this important work forward.

We’re excited to share that AB 464, co-sponsored by Sister Warriors, is headed to the Judiciary Committee!

Thank you to everyone who joined us in advocating for justice for incarcerated survivors. Stay tuned for updates and ways to take action as we continue the fight to get AB 464 passed!

Happy Pride Month, Sister Warriors! 🌈

This month—and every month—we celebrate, uplift, and stand in solidarity with our LGBTQIA+ family while honoring the radical legacy of Pride. We give thanks to the Black and Brown transwomen and q***r people who resisted police violence and threw that first brick at the Stonewall Uprising laying the foundation for the movement we continue today.

As LGBTQIA+ communities face ongoing attacks on their rights and freedoms, it is imperative to center their voices and advocate for justice. Together, we can build the world we want to see—one rooted in community care, liberation, safety, and belonging for all.

Sister Warriors! The polls close in just 2 HOURS!

These elections are so important- local and statewide elected officials decide so much about our everyday lives! From funding reentry programs, protecting renters, and trash pick up, to commutations and pardons bringing our loved ones home. The people elected to these positions have a lot of power so it is critical we elect people who align with our values! Get out and vote now and bring your families, friends, neighbors and communities!

Be Heard! Go Out and Vote!

Local elections shape our everyday lives, from housing and healthcare to schools, public safety, and reentry resources. When our communities vote, we build power and demand accountability from the systems that impact us most.
This primary election, use your voice. Use your power. Vote.

June 2nd is election day in California and polling places are open from 7:00am - 8:00pm.

You can return your ballot:
• By drop box: You may personally deliver your ballot to any polling or ballot drop-off location in California by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

• In person: Polling locations are established by county elections officials and are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, June 2, 2026. To find a location to vote early before Election Day, visit caearlyvoting.sos.ca.gov.

• By mail: Return your ballot by mail as soon as you receive it. Mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received not later than 7 days after Election Day. To ensure your ballot is postmarked by Election Day make sure to mail it at least five days before Election Day, June 2, 2026. If mailing on Election Day, get a manual postmark from a postal employee inside a United States Post Office.

Are You Prepared to Vote Caption:

Are you Ready to Vote in this year’s Primary elections? They are coming up next week!

We know that not every Sister Warrior may have the right to vote, but If you are able to vote, PLEASE DO SO! Swipe to see more information on being prepared to vote and head tohttps://elections.cdn.sos.ca.gov/pdfs/quick-facts-2026-primary.pdf for more quick facts.

Our communities fought too hard for the right to vote for us to sit this election out. For generations, systems-impacted people, Black communities, women, and working people have organized, resisted, and demanded access to the ballot. That work was not in vain. Your voice matters. Your vote matters. Make a plan to vote in the primaries and show the power of our communities at the polls.
