PRAGNYA - which literally means “Awareness” was born to help find answers and solutions to the maze the puzzle that is Autism and help not only children on the Autism spectrum acclimatize to regular / "normal" society but also to acculturate mainstream society to the phenomenon that is Autism. Through a concerted and collaborative effort, PRAGNYA helps children on the Autism spectrum get a fightin
g chance at life, through the development of academic augmentation and social immersion programs. PRAGNYA also works with neuro-typical children and adults to help create awareness among them on how to work and communicate with individuals on the Autism spectrum. One of the basic abilities which develops into a skill as we age is Communication. When this very ability is affected, and a baby does not develop this ability or loses this skill / ability as a child in their formative years, their development into productive human beings takes a huge hit. There cannot be a more devastating feeling for a parent than to realize that there is “no identifiable cause”, “no available cure” for this thing that has completely taken a hold of their lives, pervaded every aspect of their and their child’s being - called Autism. The children on the Autism Spectrum, depending on their diagnoses are moved into special day classes where they spend most of their day surrounded by their own peers on the Autism spectrum.
