From utility boxes to hidden alleyways, student art is transforming downtown San Jose once again! 🎨
The San Jose Downtown Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the San Jose Downtown Association, is proud to celebrate the 23rd season of Downtown Doors, a program that transforms downtown into an open-air gallery featuring artwork created by local high school students.
This year, 20 winning student artists were selected to have their original artwork professionally installed on doors and utility boxes throughout downtown San Jose.
With more than 120 active art sites across every downtown district, creativity is truly everywhere you look.
Since 2002, Downtown Doors has showcased 411 original student works and distributed more than $175,000 in honorariums to students and their school art departments, investing directly in the next generation of local artists.
Join us in celebrating this year’s winners at the annual Downtown Doors Awards Ceremony at the San José Museum of Art, and keep an eye out for the new installations appearing across downtown starting Friday, May 29!
