A group from Lions In Sight just returned from an eye clinic trip to Panama. The 5 docs and 10 techs saw over 2100 in the four days of clinic. Almost everyone were dispensed needed eyeglasses and about 200 patients were referred for cataract surgery. Hopefully, the local Panamanian Lions can facilitate those patients to receive the surgeries but the waiting list for the government program is many hundreds long. Aside from the clinic, the group was able to briefly visit a sloth preserve and I got to fish Gatun Lake ( part of the Panama Canal) for peacock bass, a prized species for fresh water fishermen.
