Tomorrow! Wednesday, October 7 is our October Walk N Roll! The theme for this month is "International Walk to School Day!" Please join us at two meet-up locations: Roy's Coffee and Tea and Backesto Park across from Rollos Donuts! We're going to be joined by San Jose's Department of Transportation Walk N Roll Representatives! We hope to see you tomorrow bright and early at 7:30AM!

Únanse a nosotros en dos puntos de reunión: Roy's Coffee and Tea y el parque Backesto, cruzando la calle desde Rollos Donuts. Our Grant Elementary PTA Folklórico Program is growing, and we’re reaching out to our community for support!

Folklórico is more than dance—it’s a celebration of culture, tradition, pride, and community. We want every student who wishes to participate to have the opportunity to do so, regardless of financial barriers.

We are currently accepting donations of:
• Faldas (skirts) – any color or size
• Blouses (short sleeve for girls and long-sleeve for boys) – white and any size
• Folklórico zapatos (girls)
• Cowboy boots (boys)

Gently used and new items are both welcome. Donated attire helps ensure that all of our dancers can fully participate in practices and performances throughout the year.

If you are unable to donate items but have sewing skills, we would love your help! Volunteers willing to donate their time and talent to make faldas can make a meaningful difference for our students and families.

Together, we can preserve cultural traditions, create a sense of belonging, and provide enriching opportunities for our children. Every donation, every stitch, and every act of support helps our program thrive.

Donations can be dropped off at the school office (470 Jackson Street, San Jose, CA 95112) or arrangements can be made by contacting Grant Elementary PTA at [email protected].

Hi Grant Community! We're hosting our Fall Movie Night this Friday, September 18 at 7:30PM - 9:30PM. It will be outdoors at the Grant Blacktop! Bring jackets, sweaters and/or blankets! It is Latine Heritage Month; the movie we are showing is Encanto, a fun-filled story about family, love, and finding your own place! This is a FREE EVENT; all are welcome! We will be selling pizza, chips and drinks for $1 each. Forms of payment we take are: CASH and CARD (tap-to-pay too), we do not take Zelle anymore. Please bring your friends and family to enjoy the Friday evening with our Grant Community!

We will also be selling our new Grant T-Shirts for $10 each! We have limited sizes, please grab them when you can! These shirts are uniform-approved by Grant Elementary School.

Este viernes 18 de septiembre, de 7:30 p. m. a 9:30 p. m., celebraremos nuestra Noche de Película de Otoño. ¡El evento será al aire libre en la cancha de asfalto de Grant! ¡Traigan chaquetas, suéteres y/o mantas! Estamos en el Mes de la Herencia Latina y proyectaremos *Encanto*, una historia llena de diversión sobre la familia, el amor y la búsqueda de nuestro propio lugar. Es un evento GRATUITO; ¡todos son bienvenidos! Venderemos pizza, papas fritas y bebidas a $1 cada artículo. Aceptamos pagos en efectivo y con tarjeta (incluyendo pagos sin contacto/tap-to-pay); ya no aceptamos Zelle. ¡Traigan a sus amigos y familiares para disfrutar de la tarde del viernes con nuestra comunidad de Grant!

¡También venderemos nuestras nuevas camisetas de Grant a $10 cada una! Tenemos tallas limitadas, ¡así que adquieran la suya cuanto antes! Estas camisetas cumplen con el reglamento de uniformes de la Escuela Primaria Grant.

Hi Grant Community!
Thank you for participating in our September Fundraiser! This Fundraiser is to support more of our PTA events, like movie nights, festivals, etc. Please spread the word and let's have fun playing arcade games and spending time with our family and friends! You do not have to use your power cards within this month, you just have to buy it in the duration of the fundraiser! Reminder that we have Fall Recess on September 26 - October 2! That is the best time to go with your family and friends!

Hi Grant Community,
We have our first Grant PTA Fundraiser for the school year tomorrow FRIDAY, September 4! It’s at Panda Express NATIONWIDE! Yes, anyone in the USA can use our Fundraiser Code (9017946) and it will count towards the sale! Panda Express gives back 28% of total sales back to Grant PTA! This fundraiser will fund Staff Requests! Staff can fill out a Staff Request Form at our website (sjgrantpta.org) if they are in need of supplies that the District or School are not able to provide, Grant PTA will be able to fullfil these requests. Last year, we were able to fullfil the request of Jump Ropes for Field Day that all of our students enjoyed!

Please join us for our Fundraiser this Friday and let’s give our amazing Grant Staff supplies that will guide our students to be the best that they can be!

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning at Roy’s Station and Backesto Park! Huge thanks to Sharkie for joining us for our Walk N Roll! 🦈🦅💚

Remember that we have Walk N Roll at the first Wednesday of EVERY MONTH! Join us next month again! Sharkie might not be there but join us for the community walk anyway! 😊

Grant PTA is holding a Forum for Trustee Area 2 Candidates on Sunday, September 13 at 10AM-12PM at the Joyce Ellington Library Community Room! The election in November is important, we should know who is making decisions about our children's education.
