SJSC is taking part in the global celebration of Make Music Day
- a joyful worldwide event honoring the power of music and community on the longest day of the year - the Summer Solstice - with music that inspires connection, reflection, and joy.

We’re proud to add our voices to this international celebration right here in City of San José Music brings people together. It strengthens community, lifts spirits, sparks memory, and reminds us of our shared humanity - and there’s no better day to celebrate that than Make Music Day.

From grand concert halls to public spaces around the world, more than 2,000 cities will come alive with free musical performances and shared music-making experiences inspired by France’s beloved Fête de la Musique.

Thrills - exploring epic worlds and cosmic adventures through the power and color of the British-style brass band.

Highlights include sweeping selections from Johan de Meij’s iconic Lord of the Rings Symphony, bringing Tolkien’s visions to life, alongside exhilarating music from the blockbuster film Independence Day, capturing the intensity of a cinematic battle against extraterrestrial invaders.

The band will also feature one of their own soloists in Martin Ellerby’s Baritone Concerto, highlighting the exceptional talent within the ensemble.
