Veggielution Community Farm utilizes a unique community farm model that mobilizes volunteers to cultivate and grow healthy crops, which are then made available to its program participants and other local residents.
Slow Money Farm Fest 2025: Saturday, November 8 10:30am - 4:30pm Veggielution Community Farm, San Jose, CA
Learn and engage about exciting sustainable food and ag businesses in Northern California. The casual setting of a working urban farm is a hands-on illustration of what it means to bring money back down to Earth.
Through the farm tours, entrepreneur showcase and community lunch, new relationships and friendships are formed that often lead to collaboration, funding and other connections.
FARM FEST Highlights
Farm Tours: See (and taste) what and how Veggielution grows their food. Engage with Shawn Gerth, Executive Director at Veggielution, who is leading powerful community-based programs that bring people and food production back to the same table. Her work demonstrates how access, education, and shared stewardship create lasting change in our local food ecosystem.
Community lunch, featuring a delicious vegan meal catered by Wild Plum Cafe. You’re also welcome to bring a favorite homemade dish (serves 6–8, potluck style) to share - completely optional, but a wonderful way to connect, and swap recipes. 🌱
FOOD FUNDED Entrepreneur Showcase: Curated food and ag entrepreneurs presenting their businesses and projects. Examples:
Meet Marie-Jacques Bonney, whose family’s deep community roots now extend to Honey Blossom Retreat Garden, a place that blends regenerative agriculture, learning, and connection. Her work reflects the spirit of Slow Money: investing in people, land, and local enterprise to build thriving, resilient communities.
You’ll hear from Aruna Lee, founder of Volcano Kimchi and a longtime member of the Slow Money / Food Funded community. Aruna’s approach to fermentation is both art and activism.
