Meet Kenji Niwa, EOSV Board Member and SAP Chair for 2026–2027, and the founder of Firstcard.
Kenji’s entrepreneurial journey started in Tokyo, where he launched Japan’s first internship platform for students while still in college. After growing and selling the company, he moved to Silicon Valley, spent 16 years in tech, and became an angel investor supporting more than 40 startups.
His own experience of being rejected for a credit card and struggling to understand how to build credit inspired him to create Firstcard, a platform designed to help people build credit and find financial products that fit their lives.
For Kenji, EO has been just as much about personal growth as business growth:
“EO has helped me become a more confident and strategic leader... Having friends you can talk to about anything is one of the most valuable things in life.”
Outside of work, Kenji trains MMA twice a week and recently conquered his fear of skiing in Sun Valley, Idaho.
We’re excited to have Kenji serving as our SAP Chair for 2026–2027 and bringing his experience, curiosity, and entrepreneurial perspective to the EOSV Board.
