We were honored to host the San Jose Police Department’s Special Operations Unit for a photo shoot with our horses here at Cooksy Stables! 🐎📸

Their team regularly patrols the Coyote Creek area and the trail that runs right past our property, and they’ve taken a special interest in helping keep our horses and facility safe.

Recently, they apprehended an individual who had been causing ongoing disturbances for us, and things have been much quieter since. We’re very grateful for their support and their presence in the community. 🚓💙

Dr Jenna (small animal physical rehabilitation vet) developing her skills on Phin (Phoenix) as she works toward her certification in animal chiropractic. We are happy to provide subjects for her to work on, and the horses appreciate the attention!
And Phin’s color is actually Cremello, not Poopaloosa!

The Horses in California didnt want the mammas in Colorado to miss out on all the atmospheric river fun, so they sent some moisture over the rockies to enjoy.

Currently one of our 2016 saves, Chrissy, is battling an acute case of uveitis in Colorado. She is currently receiving treatment 3 times a day to help Save her eye. With 7 senior horses in our rescue the costs increase each year in supportive care to keep them healthy and comfortable.
We dedicate our days to these mares who are living their best lives in senior retirement after years of breeding before they were sold to Slaughter once deemed too old for profitable use.
