Our thoughts and prayers go to at Florida State on the passing of their sister Maura Brinkley.
Last night we learned the tragic news that our Alpha Eta sister Maura Binkley was one of the victims of the shooting in Tallahassee, FL. Our Fraternity President Kimberlee Sullivan issued the following statement:
"The Alpha Eta Chapter of Tri Delta at Florida State is devastated by the passing of our beloved sister, Maura Binkley. As a leader in the chapter, Maura embodied the Tri Delta woman – brave, bold and kind. Our hearts are with her family, our sisters and the FSU community during this difficult time. We are grateful for the outpouring of support as we honor Maura’s life, and we respectfully ask for privacy as we grieve this tragic loss.
"Founded in 1888 as a society that would be kind alike to all, senseless acts of violence like this remind us all of the need to embrace kindness. At Tri Delta we believe kindness is more powerful than the issues that challenge our world - hazing, sexual assault, violence, hate. But for kindness to prevail, it will take all of us, working together - being kind to ourselves and to one another - in the spirit of our Founders."
Condolences for the Alpha Eta chapter may be sent to Tri Delta's Executive Office while the chapter house is under construction.
