Hello Everyone,

Tomorrow night EAA 62 will be holding our May General Meeting on May 1, 2025 at 7:30pm via Zoom. I wanted to let you know about this meeting.

Taigh Ramey and Jan Causey Johnson will be giving us a presentation on the Martin JRM, Phillipine Mars. On February 9,2025 Taigh flew his Twin Beech up the Northern California Coast to intercept the Phillipine Mars and follow it to it's landing on San Francisco Bay near Alameda.

This should be a great presentation. You are welcome to attend if interested.

Attached are a few photos Jan Took of the PHILLIPINE MARS landing on SF Bay.

Goning through Niner's Instagram. I miss him so much but have so many great memories with him.
My wife put this together. Niner and I had gone to the EAA 62 Monthly General Meeting at RHV Airport. When we got there an Officer pulled up behind us and asked if he could take a picture of Niner and I . Of course we said yes. After he took the pic I asked him if he would like me to take a pic of him with Niner with his camera. He said yes. After the pic I asked him if he could do me a favor. I asked if he could turn on his lights and I would put Niner on my seat and if he would point his finger at Niner as if giving him a warning. Great Officer.Good times.

Given the right conditions, glider pilots routinely keep their aircraft aloft for hours, covering sometimes hundreds of miles. There is no reason light airplane pilots operating in the mountains cannot use the same techniques and skills to become not only safer, but perhaps more efficient pilots while operating in the mountain environment.
