Formed in Spring 2011, the Campus Alliance For Economic Justice (Cafe J) is a San José State University student and faculty group that emerged out of the Gulf Coast Civic Works Campaign (http://www.solvingpoverty.com), which was a 4-year effort to pass federal legislation to create 100,000 public work, living wage jobs for the people of the Gulf Coast to rebuild their communities. ted to the implementation of a sustainable Economic Bill of Rights, and works to promote progressive causes and campaigns along those principles. Cafe J seeks to revive campus activism through education, advocacy, and by building alliances with other campus organizations.
