Kevin didn’t join FLY to change state policy, he joined because he wanted to make a difference in his community. At 18 Kevin became a member of flies youth advisory council that decision led him to the state Capitol being an integral part of becoming a law in 2025 ending limitless probation for 6000+ California youth annually and to a seat on the The Office of Youth and Community Restoration youth advisory board.
he is also a FLY Content creator, a college student and the founder of town visions documenting the side of Oakland that doesn’t always get seen.“ Change happens when young people are trusted supported and given space to lead our past does not define our future“
Kevin’s story is what investing in youth futures looks like. We are beyond proud of Kevin’s leadership and accomplishments and look forward to seeing what’s next in his journey.
