NEW: In an era defined by tech and explosive growth, what does belonging and social connection look like? At the center of Silicon Valley, the Bay Area’s largest city is carving a path to those shared goals amid the digital revolution through uplifting identity and insisting on space for belonging.

More than 120 cross-silo practitioners came to San José, California in May for Civic Commons Studio 11: Diverse Cultures, Common Ground to explore ideas of how growth can co-exist along with community and connection.

In our latest article, we look at how, through connected public space, coalition-building, belonging and ritual, and nurturing a philosophy of stewardship, San José is mapping the way to a shared future for all.

🚧 From Monday, July 7 through Friday, August 14, the lower Guadalupe River Trail adjacent to the river will be temporarily closed between Santa Clara Street and Park Avenue while artists paint a vibrant new mural.

🛴The upper trail at street level will remain open and accessible to both pedestrians and cyclists throughout the project.

Thank you for your patience as we create a new public artwork for everyone to enjoy. Stay tuned for updates!

Retreat into nature where the heart of downtown meets the serenity of the River. Join us for Sunset Yoga in the River Park and wind down from your long busy day!

We are partnering with Gymparty to bring the perfect vibes and help you reset after a long week.

The classes are designed for all levels! Our first program launches AUGUST 6, 2026

🏋️‍♂️ By popular demand, we are adding some more free wellness programs on to our calendar (and yours!). We are partnering with Gymparty to bring the finest instructors to Bootcamp in the River Park.

💯 Bootcamp workout classes are fast-paced, full-body group sessions mixing cardio and strength training into one efficient workout.

The classes are designed for all levels! Our first program launches AUGUST 6, 2026

Sign up for July’s Restore & Explore!

Join the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy for a 1.5 hour clean up of the trails and our Arena Green Parks, followed by a .5 hour nature tour to learn about the local flora and fauna.

Huge thank you to Deloitte for coming out and volunteering with us!

🗑️ In total, they helped us pick up 20 bags of trash - approx. 600 lbs of pounds of litter removed from the park

🌳 Distributed 55 wheelbarrows of mulch in the Historic Orchard

🌹And deadheaded 11 rows of roses in section P of the Heritage Rose Garden
