Beta Alpha Psi is a national scholastic and professional fraternity for Financial Information Professionals. The primary objective of the fraternity is to encourage
and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems; providing opportunities for self-development and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility. In accordance with the national objectives, the Gamma Xi chapter will promote and recognize scholastic and professional excellence in the field of accounting, finance, and information systems. In addition, we operate under the specific mission and goals listed below. Goals of the Gamma Xi Chapter for the 2010-2011 Academic Year
1) Build and strengthen membership through recruiting of new members and retention of continuing members.
2) Continue with the integration of finance and MIS majors into membership with emphasis on providing contacts and topics beyond the field of accounting.
3) Expand current industry contacts.
4) Increase alumni involvement in both participation and donations.
5) Serve as a beta test chapter for the new national program of chapter activities.
6) Improve contact and communication management through implementation of a consolidated database.
7) Develop a new information resource for members and pledges in the form of a printed guidebook.
