Congratulations, Paolo and Sylvia! 🎉
Please join us in celebrating two of our incredible teachers, Paolo Paelmo and Sylvia Gonzalez, who both just earned their Master’s degrees in Education! 🎓✨
At The Creekside School, we know that teaching students takes a special blend of expertise and passion. By continuing their education, Paolo and Sylvia are bringing even more specialized knowledge into our classrooms and raising the bar for neurodivergent education in San José.
💙 Paolo Paelmo, M.A. in Education (Credentials: Extensive & Mild/Moderate Support Needs)
Paolo's awareness of cognitive, developmental, and physical disabilities has shaped his career. He began with the City of San José’s Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Services as a Therapeutic and Inclusion Specialist, empowering individuals with disabilities to gain independence and live with purpose.
After joining Creekside as our High School Vocational Coordinator helping students build real-world job skills, Paolo is stepping into his new role as our Intermediate Classroom Teacher.
💚 Sylvia Gonzalez, M.A. in Education (Credentials: Extensive & Mild/Moderate Support Needs)
Sylvia brings over eight years of behavioral health and education experience to Creekside, where she has been a vital part of our community for nearly five years. Raised in Mexico for the first 16 years of her life, Sylvia returned to the U.S. speaking only Spanish and navigated the immense challenge of adjusting to an English-speaking academic environment.
Despite the language barrier, she completed her Master's in Special Education with dual credentials. As Creekside’s Elementary Teacher, Sylvia draws on her own resilience and empathy to build compassionate connections with our diverse students and families every day.
We are so proud to have educators of this caliber on our team. Thank you, Paolo and Sylvia, for your dedication and for constantly pushing the standard of care for our students! 🙌
