🌤️ That's a wrap on Neighbors in Nature and Poder de Familias this summer! For 8 weeks, children, youth, and families were able to enjoy time outdoors, engage in exciting activities, and participate in parenting discussions with other caregivers!
Emma Hamilton and Lupe Mendoza hosted the Neighbors in Nature (Vecinos en la naturaleza) program where each week, children and their families participated in fun and engaging activities such as designing their own sports jerseys and completing an obstacle course. These sessions also provided participants with the opportunity to build friendships and connect with their neighbors.
Ana Briones and Gigi Hurtado facilitated the Poder de Familias program for parents and caregivers to participate in while their youth played. This program provided parents with an open space to discuss various topics, including autism, understanding school systems, bullying, mental health, and more. Each session created a safe environment for parents to voice their concerns about their children and foster relationships with other parents who shared similar experiences.
Thank you to our program leads for hosting these spaces this summer, and we look forward to connecting with the community again soon this Fall! 🍂
