We're thrilled to announce Congressman Sam Liccardo as our DreamMakers 2026 keynote speaker! 🌟

A longtime champion for STEM education, from launching hands-on STEM programs as San José's mayor to advancing access to computer science in Congress, Liccardo has spent his career fighting for the same thing SV[e]F does every day: making sure every student has access to opportunity.

Today, he chairs Congress's Innovation and Technology Working Group, pushing to bring computer science and STEM education into classrooms nationwide. 🙌🏽

We can't wait to hear his vision for what's next for our students at DreamMakers 2026: Rooted. Ready. Rising., happening September 12 at Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club.

Too much data and not enough clarity sound familiar? 😵‍💫

At EdTrust-West's upcoming Education Equity Forum, two SV[e]F leaders are tackling a challenge every nonprofit knows well: collecting data that never turns into action.

Cris Ramirez, Chief Program Officer, and Colleen Thomas, Director of Data and Strategy, will lead "Stop Collecting Data You'll Never Use," a hands-on session helping leaders cut through the noise and focus on the metrics that actually drive impact.

At SV[e]F, we believe hands-on exposure to innovative technologies is where curiosity turns into confidence. 💪🏽

This summer, students got the chance to code, build, and problem-solve using real circuit simulators, connecting the dots between hardware and the logic behind it. One of our instructors put it best:

"Getting students involved in coding... and using the simulator on the screen, was very engaging. Teaching about circuits and how it relates to coding was very informative for the students..."

This is what innovation in the classroom looks like: giving students the tools and the "why" behind the technology shaping their future. 🛠️

Huge thanks to our incredible programs team, Max, Shelby, José, Jasmin, and Michelle, for the passion and dedication they brought to students all summer long.

Thank you, Dr. Lisa Andrew, for 8 years of service to students, teachers, and the future of STEM education. 💚

For 8 years, Dr. Lisa Andrew has led SV[e]F with unwavering commitment to students across Silicon Valley. Under her leadership, our foundation grew deeper programmatically and more united in mission, expanding access to equitable STEM education for tens of thousands of students.

As Lisa steps into her next chapter, we celebrate the legacy she built and the momentum she leaves behind. Manny Barbara will serve as Interim CEO, working alongside our team to keep our work moving forward without interruption, while our Board leads a national search for SV[e]F's next visionary leader.

This July, Elevate [Math] students from August Boeger Middle School took a field trip to HP’s Palo Alto headquarters! 🚌 Students heard from a panel of HP professionals in AI software ecosystems, sales strategy, and data analytics; teamed up to complete a STEAM kit activity; and toured the original offices of founders Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard.

A huge thank you to Stacy Walsh Springs, Sahil Bhardwaj, and HP Inc. for connecting our students to HP’s legacy of excellence and innovation, giving us the unique opportunity to inspire the future engineers, visionaries, and trailblazers of tomorrow! 💫
