𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗝𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗨𝗦𝗔 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 🚀

On May 9 2026, MJW hosted its 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 in Silicon Valley bringing together 23 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗨𝗦𝗔 Taiwan startup teams, investors, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders for an afternoon of startup pitches, conversations, and meaningful networking.

This year’s gathering was special, with 8 current and former MJW chairs in attendance, reflecting the community’s long-standing commitment to advancing innovation and global collaboration.

Special thanks to our hosts for opening their beautiful garden, and to emcee 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗲 𝗟𝗶 for helping make the event possible.

We were also honored to feature 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗮𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝗲, MJW Board Member, Clark Distinguished Professor at the University of Maryland, and WEF Global Future Council member, who shared insights on industrial AI, advanced manufacturing, and AI-driven decision intelligence.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗨𝗦𝗔 𝗧𝗮𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 represented a strong cross-section of innovation across HealthTech, EnergyTech, DefenseTech, AI, semiconductors, and biotechnology.

On April 18, the MJAA – Monte Jade West 2025–2026 Graduation Celebration brought together mentees, mentors, and volunteers at Skyline College to mark an important milestone following a meaningful six-month mentorship journey. The event celebrated the achievements of an outstanding cohort and the continued growth of the community. We were honored to welcome 𝗗𝗿. 𝗣𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗻, Chairman and former CEO of BroadVision Group and former CEO of Gain Technology, a former board member of MJW, as the fireside chat speaker, hosted by 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝘂, where he shared insights on leadership and innovation, including his "AI Ten Commandments", and introduced his AI-generated music piece. The graduation celebration also featured a pitch competition, where graduating mentees presented innovative ideas and new initiatives, reflecting the spirit of the next generation of leaders within the Monte Jade community.

On March 8, 2026, the 美西玉山科技協會 Monte Jade West Science and Technology Association and 𝗠𝗝𝗔𝗔 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 proudly hosted the inaugural gathering of our new 𝗠𝗶𝗱-𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽. This initiative was thoughtfully designed for Asian American technology professionals navigating the complex intersections of career ambition, family responsibilities, and personal well-being within the high-pressure environment of Silicon Valley.

The evening was defined by authentic connection and profound dialogue. Through shared experiences and small-group discussions, participants reflected on topics often sidelined in professional spaces: the unique pressures of leadership, the complexities of multi-generational caregiving, and the search for purpose during mid-career transitions.

In Silicon Valley, conversations are dominated by startups, innovation, and venture building, areas where Monte Jade West and MJAA remain deeply active. Our Mid-Career Group offers something different. We aim to strengthen the Asian American technology community not only through innovation but by creating a dedicated space for mentorship, reflection, and mutual support across all stages of life.

We had a wonderful and heartwarming Lunar New Year celebration at Grant’s home, where our generous executive sponsor hosted ~90 guests, including executives, board members, Harvard and Stanford alumni, and VIPs such as Rancho Palos Verdes Mayor Paul Seo.

MJW's Chairman Kai and Leo’s lively icebreaker set a great tone for the evening, while Oscar and Vivien’s Chinese-style music added an elegant and festive atmosphere. From a charming dog and robot dog to a delightful Lunar New Year feast and wine, it was truly a memorable gathering filled with warmth and connection.
