The assisted outpatient treatment (AOT) program is made possible in Santa Clara County due to Laura's Law, a California state law that provides community based, AOT services to a small population of individuals who meet strict legal criteria. Laura's Law and similar AOT laws across the country have successfully enabled people with severe mental illness to access the treatment they need.

Giving Hands is a group of dedicated employees from various departments and agencies who have been brought together through the T.O.P. (Training for Office Professionals) program.

For our class project, we chose to support Behavioral Health Services () and the Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) program. This program is aimed at delivering community-based behavioral health services to individuals with severe mental illness.

Through our work, we hope to help at least 150 people get much needed services, and we hope to inspire others to do the same.
