If Someone Demands Payment in Gift Cards, It's a Scam. Let's repeat that for the people in the back.

If anyone asks you to pay them in gift cards, it's a scam. Every time. No exceptions.

Real businesses don't ask for gift cards. The IRS doesn't. Utility companies don't. Tech support doesn't. Police don't. Your boss doesn't.

If you're being told to buy gift cards and read the numbers off the back: hang up, walk away, don't pay.
