Important info re: SJSU Black Alumni Homecoming Space, please share. thanks!
Black Alumni Homecoming Tailgate will be Friday 10/9 4pm-6pm at the same spot as last year on the grass on 10th in front of the stadium by the tennis courts. This year we will be included in the broader Alumni Networks Tailgate, which costs $35 pp and includes food and 1 drink ticket. There will be a bar inside tailgate area and you CAN bring your own food but CAN NOT bring alcohol. There is space for 10 tents and and each org can bring their own, as tents, tables and chairs will NOT be provided. Each D9 org will have space for 1 tent + the space for Sigma Phi Rho. BFW committee will arrive early to ensure spaces are marked.
Tailgate tickets are sold separately and also included in the weekend pass which is the best value!

FAQ:
Why are we included in alumni networks space? Changes in university athletics tailgate rules made having our own space this year cost prohibitive. SJSU like other schools is moving to 1 all inclusive tailgate option for safety, security and to raise funds for athletics.
Why didn’t we move tailgate off campus or to the parking lot? The homecoming committee consensus was that it was more important for black alumni to be present / visible among the other alumni networks than to be out of sight out of mind simply to have a separate space. Not to mention, we have an afterparty following the game and multiple other weekend activities where we will get together and socialize.
Why is tailgate only 2 hours long? 4pm-6pm is the time of the Spartan Block Party (tailgate). Game kickoff is 6pm and tailgate will end at that time.
