Small businesses deserve the opportunity to fix minor ADA accessibility issues before facing costly lawsuits.

SB 84 would provide a 120-day right-to-cure period, allowing businesses to correct accessibility violations before legal action is taken—encouraging compliance, improving accessibility, and helping local employers invest resources where they matter most.

The bill has passed the Senate with bipartisan support and is now awaiting a hearing in the Assembly Judiciary Committee.

We encourage our members and community partners to respectfully contact Assemblymember Ash Kalra, Chair of the Assembly Judiciary Committee, by June 22 and urge that SB 84 be scheduled for a hearing.

- Why SB 84 creates a balanced approach that supports both accessibility and small businesses
