Next Generation Bay Area

Next Generation Bay Area Next Generation Bay Area is an expanding group of young workers, students, and union members fighting for social, racial and economic justice while empower

As an organization we work to:

Educate young people about issues that impact us like budget cuts, state and national politics, our rights at work, and gaining full equality for young workers, people of color, immigrants, women, the LGBT community, and other underrepresented groups. Mobilize and do something about those issues. We’ve protested against the cuts to community colleges, rallied with h

otel workers and transportation security officers trying to unionize, stood up for a local high school’s Gay-Straight Alliance, walked precincts for local candidates, and marched for immigrant and worker rights! We want to know what you’re doing and where we should mobilize next! Train emerging leaders with the skills we need to successfully make change. That’s everything from a one-day organizing/leadership training in the summer; to workshops on public speaking, how to run a meeting and political campaigns; and hands-on training organizing events and a voter registration drive. Connect labor, community, and student groups and create spaces for young people to connect with each other. We think it’s really important to build bridges between social justice organizations and actively support each other’s work.
