Thank you so much for attending our sixth and seventh sessions in the past two days! On Tuesday, Xiangtuo saturated the day with interesting chemistry, explaining concepts including why sugars are sweet in Food Science and how to identify compounds based on Barnard's test in the (very popular) Crimebusters. Today, Emily kicked off the session with Crave the Wave before explaining tips on how to build a vehicle in Mousetrap Vehicle and how to build a plane in Electric Wright Stuff.

Come in tomorrow for our final instructor Caroline, who will present Disease Detectives and Rocks & Minerals. And on Friday, we have a special review session planned!

Thank you so much for attending our sixth session yesterday! Nirvika gave an overview of Experimental Design and Andrew presented on Water Quality. Students learned how to quickly come up with an experiment and write a quality report. They also learned about some key indicators of water quality and biological concepts associated with aquatic ecosystems.

Come in on Tuesday to listen to Xiangtuo present on the science of food and crime scenes! Some very exciting chemistry brewing in the distance.

Thank you!

Thank you so much for attending our fifth session yesterday! On Friday, Andrew presented the events Dynamic Planet and Anatomy and Physiology. Students took a (non-literal) dive into some of the key concepts surrounding oceans, Then, they learned some more about the body part that no one expects to be alive-bones!

We are taking a hiatus over the weekend before we resume on Monday. Nirvika and Andrew will complete their presentations with Experimental Design and Water Quality. Come on Monday for another unique event where we focus on how to take science into your own hands with your own experiments!

The recordings for the first week are ready. We'll leave the recordings open to the public for 2 weeks due to some privacy issues. Please like our videos and subscribe to our channel if you like our summer camp.

Thank you so much for attending our fourth session today! Things took a turn towards more hands-on events as Jason presented Storm the Castle and Nelson dove deep into strategies about Write it Do it. In the first half, students learned some trebuchet-building tips (useful for destroying castles and throwing pumpkins) in Storm the Castle. Then, students learned strategies for the unique Write it Do it event, where one member writes a description of a model and the other member uses that description to try to replicate the model.

Unfortunately, Andrew's computer was having constant issues in the first half, and as a result, a portion of Jason's Kahoot session was removed. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Tomorrow, Andrew will wrap up the week with Dynamic Planet and Anatomy and Physiology. If you want to know just how salty the ocean is or which organ actually makes your blood cells, make sure to come tomorrow!

Hello everyone!!!

Thank you so much for attending our second session today! Unfortunately, Andrew had an emergency so he was not able to present today. Instead, Yifan and Nirvika covered Codebusters and Road Scholar. Here is the revised schedule:

6/23 will proceed as normal, Jason and Nelson will present Storm the Castle and Write it Do it.

6/24 will be all Andrew. He will present Dynamic Planet along with the originally slated Anatomy and Physiology

6/27 will have Nirvika present Experimental Design in the first half, and Andrew will finish his Water Quality in the second half.

Despite the sudden change in schedule, our instructors still delivered very interesting presentations! Yifan introduced the students to various ciphers, from easy ciphers like Atbash to complex ones like Vignere. Nirvika also shared her knowledge on reading different types of maps, from USGS topographic maps to standard highway maps.

Tomorrow, the duo of Jason and Nelson will move to more hands-on events like Storm the Castle and Write it Do it. Be sure to come tomorrow for another exciting day of presentations!

Hello everyone!!!

Thank you so much for attending our first session today! Today, Andrew covered a bit about the general logistics for the Science Olympiad, and Yifan gave a lesson on the event Machines! Students learned different devices used in machines, including levers and pulleys, and learned different ways to calculate the efficiency of a machine using Ideal Mechanical Advantage.

Tomorrow, Samuel will cover Meteorology and Solar System. He will cover interesting events that you definitely shouldn't miss! The classes will be at the same time.
