The taiko bridge is re-invented & there is water in the ponds again! Hopefully, everyone in the City of San Jose will appreciate and respect the garden and it will be beautiful for many years to come.

The Grand Opening Ceremony of the San Jose Japanese Friendship Garden (in Kelley Park) celebrated its re-opening in grand style on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Following nearly a decade of construction, this event celebrates the return of water to the ponds, re-opening of the Taiko Bridge, and the reintroduction of koi fish.
