On June 18, 2026, CABL joined Duane Morris LLP for the webinar, Exploring the Significance of Juneteenth with Bar Association Leaders. Moderated by Terrance Evans, CABL President-Elect, the discussion brought together leaders from several of CABL's affiliate bar associations to reflect on the history and significance of Juneteenth and its connection to ongoing conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal profession. Panelists included Mariah S. Cooks, President of the Charles Houston Bar Association; Ludlow B. Creary II, President of the John M. Last week, the 2026–2027 CABL Board gathered for its annual retreat to align priorities, strengthen leadership, and prepare for the organization's next chapter. As CABL moves toward its 50th anniversary in 2027, the retreat focused on honoring the vision established in 1977 while shaping a bold strategy for the future. The event celebrated transition-age youth who have overcome significant adversity and built stable, successful lives, while also recognizing The RightWay Foundation's Employee of the Year.

Founder and CEO Franco Vega is pictured with CABL President Stephen King and President-Elect Terrance J. Evans. Franco's vision and leadership continue to create life-changing opportunities for young people transitioning out of foster care.

CABL President Stephen King and President-Elect Terrance J. Evans were honored to attend the Inner City Law Center's 26th Annual Awards Luncheon in Los Angeles this past May. The event celebrated significant legal victories, client perseverance, and the ongoing work to advance justice for vulnerable communities.

Held annually, the luncheon raises critical funds to support legal services for veterans, immigrants, and individuals experiencing severe poverty and homelessness. CABL is proud to support organizations that are making a meaningful impact through advocacy and access to justice.
