Jeff Garmany’s journey to the Stars & Strides 5K/10K start line began long before race day. After a devastating accident last year, he spent weeks at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and worked tirelessly through the Rehabilitation Center to rebuild strength and independence.

This weekend, Jeff returned not just as our Patient Honoree, but as a competitor — racing in the San Jose Water wheelchair division and earning an incredible 3rd place finish. His determination reflects the very heart of Valley Health Foundation's mission: supporting Santa Clara County’s public healthcare system so patients like Jeff can heal, recover, and reclaim their lives.

What a day! Thank you for joining us at Stars & Strides this Saturday. Our community showed up in full force — more than 3,100 participants, spectators, and volunteers — and together we raised $315,109 for Valley Health Foundation. Over six years, Stars & Strides has now generated $1,775,000 to strengthen public healthcare across Silicon Valley.

• Check our website or IG Highlights for the full race‑day schedule.

Getting There:
• Public transit: Light rail and bus routes drop you right near the start line.
• Bike valet: Ride in and park your bike securely at our free bike check.
• Item check: We’ll have a staffed gear check so you can run hands‑free.

Post‑Race Festival:
Stick around after you finish — enjoy live music, local food trucks, a beer & mimosa garden (21+), lawn games, face painting, and tons of family‑friendly fun.
