San Jacinto Unified School District, in partnership with the San Jacinto African American Advisory Council (SJAAAC), is proud to invite our students, families, and the entire community to join us for our Black History Month Celebration 2026!

Come celebrate the powerful contributions, achievements, and rich history of African Americans through engaging performances, community vendors, food, prizes, and meaningful opportunities to connect with one another.
This celebration reflects SJUSD’s ongoing commitment to educating, engaging, and empowering our students and families while honoring African American culture, history, and excellence.

The San Jacinto African American Advisory Council would like to invite you to join us at our next meeting on Tuesday, January 9th for a special Family Math Night Event. The event is in person (no virtual option) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and is hosted by our own Dr. Jordan Smith Jr., Master Teacher - Mountain Heights Academy, Mathematics Teacher -Mountain View High School. SJAAAC Family Math Night is an event for the whole family to create take home projects together that will reinforce classroom learning. Please see the attached flyer for more details and we hope you to see there for a night of math games, food, and family fun. Location: SJUSD Board Room, 2045 S. San Jacinto. SJAAAC Mission

The San Jacinto Unified School District’s, African American Advisory Council (SJAAAC) mission is to provide meaningful opportunities to learn about our African American students' unique needs by educating and informing parents of available district resources and policy programs. SJAAAC’S goal is to identify actions that will enrich our African American students' educational experience and academic achievement. SJAAAC actively collaborates with educational partners of San Jacinto Unified School District to develop resources that support the needs of our African American families. SJAAAC families will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources to help advocate on behalf of their African American students' educational instruction by partnering with educational partners in the San Jacinto Unified School District.
