If your students are naturally curious (and let’s be honest, they are), come spend an evening with us learning how to turn that curiosity into real science.

Bee Curious: Native Bees & Science Inquiry:

This program is offered in partnership with the Randall Museum and San Francisco Recreation and Park Department.

You’ll explore native bees outdoors, pick up NGSS-aligned activities you can use right away, and leave with some sweet extras:

We’re buzzing to share a new partnership! 🐝

Joe Cataldo is a fourth-generation farmer in Lodi, CA, and his family has been working this land for decades. Over the years Joe has been moving his farm toward organic, sustainable practices, and now he’s taking a big step: replacing his grape vines with sweet cherry trees, grown under CCOF organic certification.

Here’s why that matters to us. Cherry trees depend on pollinators, so these new orchards will offer food and habitat for honeybees and for native bees like the blue orchard mason bee. Fewer synthetic pesticides and more forage add up to healthier bees across the region.

With grant funding from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), Planet Bee is helping Joe make this transition and keep his family farm thriving for the next generation. When the cherries are ready, Delta Packing will pack and ship them.

Here’s to Joe, his family, and a whole lot of happy bees.

Did you know a single seed ball can turn a bare patch of dirt into a pollinator buffet? 🌼

Thanks to everyone who visited us at Golden Gate Park Nature Fest, 750 seed balls are now on their way to gardens!

The festival celebrated California's 30x30 movement to protect 30% of our lands and waters by 2030, and we were honored to be invited to speak up for the bees. 🐝

Our team chatted with over 450 of you about why pollinators matter and how anyone can help, whether you have a backyard, a balcony, or one sunny windowsill.

We had a buzzing good time at Rotary District 5170's Collaborative Impact Summit! 🐝

Dr. Jamie Chan shared what we learned from Phase I of Coding for Conservation and got to talk Phase II with some wonderful Rotarians, including Jagi Shahani of the Cupertino Rotary and a great group of District 5170 Interactors. We swapped ideas on fundraising, community service, and mentorship for the year ahead, and we left with a full notebook and even fuller hearts.

Meeting the Interactors was a highlight. Coding for Conservation runs on near-peer learning, which means older students and community mentors help younger learners find their footing. Through the program, kids build coding confidence, get a peek at environmental careers, and start to picture themselves as future STEM and conservation leaders.

Quick refresher on what we do: the program brings together coding, sensor tech, real environmental research, and mentorship. In Phase II, we're working to open the hive doors even wider with free curriculum, coding kits, and support for educators. 💻🐝

Summer may be over, but we still can't get over Visit Google's Endless Summer event! ☀️🐝

We spent the day with over 10,000 new friends, and honestly, we're still buzzing. Together we:

🐝 Learned about our native bees
🥤 Sipped honey-infused mocktails
🌱 Made seed balls to help pollinators grow

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked great questions, and got their hands dirty with us. You made it a sweet day!

We're already counting down to next year. Until then, plant those seed balls and keep the pollinator love blooming!

🐝 What a buzz-worthy day with our friends at Barclays Bank US.

200 Barclays staff members got hands-on with Planet Bee's mission and left with a whole new appreciation for the tiny workers keeping our ecosystems (and our food!) running smoothly.

Highlights from the day included:
�🐝 Getting up close with the honeybee hives right on the Barclays premises�🐝 A honey tasting that had everyone buzzing for more�🐝 Rolling up their sleeves to hand-craft their very own beeswax candles

But the impact doesn't stop there! This event also helps power Planet Bee's free environmental STEM programs, giving 180+ students hands-on conservation learning they might not otherwise have access to. 🐝

Noah and Ash, who led the day, couldn't stop talking about how curious, engaged, and enthusiastic the Barclays team was — it really showed how much everyone loved learning about their own hives and getting a taste (literally) of what we do.

Thank you, Barclays, for opening your hive doors and being such gracious hosts.
