A hero lost but never forgotten.

Yesterday, we remembered SFPD Officer Nick-Tomasito Birco, whom we tragically lost on July 26, 2006. Officer Birco was killed when his patrol car was struck by a van being pursued by officers.

Officer Birco was a US Marine Corps veteran and had faithfully served the citizens of San Francisco for five years. He is survived by his parents, two sisters, brother-in-law, niece, and two nephews.

Today, we remember his sacrifice to his country and to our city. May you forever Rest In Peace, Officer Nick-Tomasito Birco. We have not forgotten you.🇺🇸
