A study in npj Digital Medicine, published October 20, 2023, found ChatGPT-3.5 and GPT-4 justifying race-based medicine — that Black people have thicker skin and different lung capacity, plus race-adjusted math for kidney function that makes Black patients look healthier than they are. ECRI ranked misuse of AI chatbots the No. 1 health technology hazard for 2026.

The FRONTIER Act, by Democrat Lori Trahan, blocks state AI safety laws.
Most of the bill is good: transparency reports, independent audits, emergency power to shut down a model posing catastrophic risk. But then, it bars all 50 states from imposing new obligations on AI developers in those same areas.
