Even Ronald Reagan's FCC Chair thinks Trump's FCC chair is a danger to free press and speech.

From a statement submitted by Mark Fowler in the current "ABC vs FCC" case:

"When editors and producers decide what's news, they are exercising constitutionally protected editorial discretion. When Chairman Can judges the merits of those editorial decisions, he is acting as a censor. This case poses a grave threat to the discretion long guaranteed under the First Amendment."

"Crime rates in Washington, D.C., one of the cities in the report and where he first deployed troops in August 2025, had been falling for two years before he took office and were already at their lowest point in decades. As a result, the CAP report concluded, Trump’s attempts to claim credit for the decades-long trend are baseless, not to mention a massive waste of money."

The Center for American Progress said it will not retract the report despite Trump’s pledge of a $5 billion lawsuit.

Republicans who rant about "DEI hires" and "meritocracy" continue to support utterly unqualified idiots like Darline Graham (sister of the late POS Lindsey Graham).

Check out this exchange, from a televised debate this week.

Moderator: "Senator, are Taiwan and the South China Sea national security issues for the United States, and if so why?

Darline Graham: "I am not that informed on national security."

Later, a reporter asked her about that answer. Here's what she said.

Darline Graham: "I tripped up on one question last night, regarding Taiwan.... But I think people in South Carolina are more worried about boys in girls sports."

"After Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers shot and detained Parias last October, the Los Angeles-based journalist will cross 300 days in ICE detention on Monday. No journalist has endured such a sustained sequence of violence, prosecution, and imprisonment at the hands of the U.S. government"

With the case of Carlitos Ricardo Parias, the U.S. has broken its own record for holding a journalist in custody.

Disney sues the FCC. "“This case boils down to a simple question: Can the administration use its control over the federal regulatory apparatus to punish a media organization for editorial decisions and news coverage it dislikes?”

The network asked a court to stop the agency from taking steps that could force ABC stations off the air and accused the F.C.C. of violating its First Amendment rights.
