Each week we deliver over 1000 free bags of groceries to low-income seniors Our clients live with the daily threat of hunger.

San Francisco has approximately 40,000 seniors whose income level falls below the federal poverty line. Being food-insecure can worsen chronic health problems that can in turn lead to hospitalization. Food is a basic human need and without an adequate diet people cannot fight off disease and infection. Low income seniors must often choose between purchasing food or buying medicine to keep from getting sick. Groceries for Seniors distributes nutritious fresh food to approximately 1,000 senior citizens in San Francisco every week. Without our help, many of our elderly neighbors would go hungry.

Groceries for Seniors was thrilled to have a team from PwCPACIN (PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP) join our group of volunteers this morning to help us put together over 320 free grocery bags for low-income seniors in San Francisco. We'd like to thank Ashley Pan, Brendan Co, Jasmine Lam and Jerry Tran for their hard work, from building each bag one ingredient at a time to helping load the finished items into our van for delivery this afternoon. We really appreciate your dedication and hope you'll volunteer with us again real soon.

Groceries for Seniors is quite blessed to have volunteer teams like this group from Wells Fargo in to help us periodically. Twice a year (sometimes more), this particular branch joins our Groceries for Seniors family and helps us assemble over 330 free grocery bags for low-income seniors in San Francisco. We truly thank Maria Celestial, Philip Young, Becky Laxa, Lorelei Gandingco, Rie McAllister, John Lee, Liza Quintela, Teresita Quintela, and Linda Sam (who also recruits and coordinates these visits) for their hard work and generosity. And, there's talk of yet another volunteer session before the year's out. We can't wait!

This week Groceries for Seniors is honored to have not one, but TWO groups of volunteers from Wells Fargo join us to help assemble free grocery bags for low-income seniors in San Francisco. This morning we welcomed a group of 10 volunteers, some who were first-timers and some who were eager to help us again, and joining forces we put together over 230 bags, which the team also helped load into our van for delivery. We want to thank Regina Sung for helping coordinate this particular visit. And this Thursday, yet another team of Wells Fargo folks will join us for another session. A big THANK YOU to Wells Fargo for their generosity helping us carry out our mission.

This fine trio of folks from Flad Architects dropped in this morning and helped Groceries for Seniors put together over 330 free grocery bags that were delivered to low-income seniors in San Francisco today. We appreciate their hard work and look forward to another volunteer session they've got scheduled later on this Fall. Thanks very much for your generosity.

This morning, a group of volunteers from Flad Architects joined us once again to help Groceries for Seniors pack over 320 free groceries we delivered to low-income seniors this afternoon. We want to thank Niella Grajales, Jose Melara, Peter Wen, Andrew Cunningham, Yuan-Yuan Wen, Philip Ra & his son Ollie, Zion Lewis, and Sokangna Sun (who helped coordinate this visit). You all were a tremendous help, and there are already plans for another volunteer day in the near future. We look forward to working with you all anytime!

Groceries for Seniors were happy to welcome our friends from HR Options to help us assemble over 320 free grocery bags for low income seniors this morning. Thanks to Tamra Aguinaldo, Ethan Raygoza, and Julia Urteaga (who also helped coordinate this visit) for all of the awesome assistance. I know we'll be in communication soon, as your group helps us throughout the year, but want to make sure you all know how much we appreciate the visit this morning and hope you'll plan to join us again in person real soon.

Yesterday, we had a group of volunteers from Flad Architects join us at Groceries for Seniors helping us assemble over 320 free grocery bags from low-income seniors in San Francisco. Some of the group had volunteered before and encouraged their colleagues to join us. We want to thank Sokanga Sun (who helped organize this outing), Susan Seastone, Kim Swanson, Stevens Williams, and Ryan Nearman for their hard work and enthusiasm. There's already talk about a return visit, and we welcome you all back anytime.

We have a new record for the individual who has made the longest trip to volunteer with Groceries for Seniors. On the left, is Laura Bissell from Brisbane, Australia - who made a day at GFS part of her first ever visit to San Francisco! We are very thankful for her able support!

Groceries for Seniors wants to thank writer Christina Gray and Catholic San Francisco for this very nice profile of our organization in their June 2026 issue. We also wish to thank the Fathers and staff of Old Saint Mary's Cathedral for their continued support and generosity, allowing us to use their basement auditorium as our base of operation all these years. A tremendous shout out to all our volunteers who help us with our mission each week is also in order, especially the various local businesses who organize team outings joining forces with us throughout the year (like this group from Wells Fargo pictured)! Thanks to all of you, Groceries for Seniors continues to deliver over 1,200 free grocery bags to low income seniors in San Francisco.
