Since inception, the Farwest Region has meaningfully contributed to the growth, leadership and vitality of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated; beginning with the chartering of the first Farwest chapter at the University of California at Berkeley in 1921. Affectionately known as the Fabulous Farwest, the region is now comprised of nearly 90 chapters located iin Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington; as well as international chapters in Japan (Okinawa and Tokyo) and the Republic of Korea (Seoul).

Throughout her term, Immediate Past Farwest Regional Representative Radiya Ajibade ensured that the voices and perspectives of our collegiate sorors were represented within regional leadership. Her service reminds us that Delta’s continued strength depends on every generation having a voice and a place at the table.

A 55thFarwestRegionalConference evening was more than a celebration. It was an opportunity to honor the Sorors who poured their time, talents, and hearts into the Farwest Region throughout the 2024–2026 biennium.

To Immediate Past Regional Director Kimberly M. Usher, Immediate Past Regional Representative Radiya Ajibade, and every Soror who served on the 2024–2026 Farwest Leadership Team — thank you for your leadership, your service, and your commitment to Farwest.

As we continue to recap from the 55th regional conference, we are proud to congratulate the Farwest Region’s 2025–2026 Delta Pearl Cohort 4 — 15 sorors — on completing their 10 month regional program focused on organizational knowledge, skill-building, and leadership!

As their capstone project, Cohort 4 produced Bias by Design: AI Hiring, Job Security, and Economic Inequities in Communities of Color, a research-driven study exploring how algorithmic bias shapes employment outcomes for Black professionals.
